Martin Bay (58) has taken over the position of Chairman of the German Near and Middle East Association, Germany’s biggest and oldest association of enterprises for the Near and Middle East. Bay is Chairman of the Board of Managing Director of DB ProjektBau GmbH. As an allied company of Deutsche Bahn AG and with an annual construction volume of around 4 billion Euros, DB ProjektBau is one of the largest project management companies in the logistics sector. As Deutsche Bahn is further internationalised, the role of the Near and Middle East will increase in importance. Through the course of his career up until now, Mr Bay has become well acquainted with the region. For example, he lived and worked for some years in Saudi Arabia.
